The Leaves of Falls Welcome in the 2024-2025 School Year
The leaves have been turning, painting our surroundings with rich colors of red, orange and gold, much like the creative energy that fills the halls of Lowville Academy as our students return. Each new school year is akin to the changing seasons—a chance for growth, renewal, and the promise of new beginnings.
As we embark on this exciting journey for the 2024-2025 school year, it is important for us to reflect on the remarkable academic achievements of our students from last year. The results from the June Regents exams were nothing short of outstanding, showcasing the hard work and dedication of our students and faculty alike. We celebrated an impressive overall pass rate of 88% on all ten Regents exams, with standout performances in English 11 and United States History, where our students achieved a remarkable 95% pass rate. Additionally, our Regents Physics class shone brightly with a 96% passing rate.
Beyond mere numbers, we must also recognize the mastery our students demonstrated. This past June, 41% of our students reached a mastery level on their Regents assessments, with English 11 and Physics students leading the way at 63% and 68% mastery, respectively. These numbers not only reflect academic success but also the commitment and passion our students bring to their studies.
In addition to academic achievements, we are proud to highlight our students & engagement in Career and Technical Education (CTE). An impressive 49% of our 11th and 12th graders found success through the classes offered at Glenfield BOCES, gaining valuable skills for their future. Furthermore, 20% of our students in grades 9-12 actively participated in our high school band, showcasing not only their musical talents but also their dedication to the arts.
Tradition is held in high esteem at Lowville Academy, and our 2024 seniors exemplified this with a graduation rate of 95%. Of those graduates, 62% chose to further their education by enrolling in college or technical schools, while 38% entered the workforce, living out our cherished motto: “Enter to learn…Go forth to serve.”
As we turn the page to a new school year, we eagerly anticipate the Class of 2025 continuing this legacy of excellence throughout their senior year and beyond. Together, let us embrace the changes ahead and cultivate an environment where every student can thrive.
Yours in Education,
Brian E. Finn

Lowville Academy Backpack Program
Lowville Academy’s Backpack Program is up and running for the 2024-25 school year, marking the 13th year of operation at Lowville. The program is designed to send food home on weekends to families that could use some extra help, especially during these difficult financial times. Last year the program served approximately 40 families that supported about 90 students. The Backpack Program’s success has been due to the collaboration of several student clubs, and student volunteers including Mrs. Moshier’s Life Skills Class.
Funding for the program is provided through various means, including grants and donations received from organizations, churches, families, and individuals. Anyone who wishes to donate to the program may do so by sending it to Lowville Academy Backpack Program, in the care of advisor Mr. Monnat in the High School Counseling Office, Lowville Academy, 7668 North State St, Lowville NY 13367.
This year’s Backpack Officers are as follows Ava Burns, President, Kiera Moshier & Scarlett Salerno, Co-Vice President, Landon Brennan, Treasurer and Lauren Crouse, Secretary.
